The parish of Our Lady of Walsingham, established in 1984 under the Pastoral Provision of Pope John Paul II, was the first Roman Catholic parish in the United States to be dedicated to Our Lady under this title. We are one of several Anglican Use parishes in the country and currently a personal parish of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Our liturgy, approved by the Holy See, is published in the Book of Divine Worship. We welcome visitors not only to worship with us at the parish church but also visit the newly built Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.
We offer thanks for the Apostolic Constitution, Anglicanorum coetibus, and for the establishment of the Ordinariate here in the United States on January 1, 2012 on the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. We rejoice in the generous invitation of Pope Benedict XVI to secure a permanent place for our Anglican Patrimony and to help others reconcile with Holy Mother Church.
